Below is information provided by Gallatin’s Office of Student Affairs regarding Wellness Services to Gallatin students:

There may be a time when you want to speak with someone about personal problems and difficulties you are experiencing. Counseling is available to help you deal with stress, anxiety, adjusting to college, depression, eating concerns, identity, substance abuse – any issue that troubles you.

You are not alone. Gallatin has a counselor-in-residence, Kesia Constantine, to help you clarify and deal with your issues. She schedules appointments three times a week at 715 Broadway. In order to set up an appointment, you must call Counseling and Behavioral Health Services (CBH) at 212/998-4780. Dr. Constantine may not always be available; you can schedule an appointment to see another counselor. Be assured that counseling is strictly confidential.

You may need immediate assistance. It usually takes a few days to meet with a counselor but you may need to speak with someone right away. CBH, located at 726 Broadway, Suite 402, provides walk-in hours:

MONDAY-THURSDAY:
10am - noon & 4pm - 8:30pm

FRIDAY
10am - noon & 3pm -5:30pm

SATURDAY
10am - noon

Evenings and weekends. When CBH is closed and your situation requires immediate attention, please call NYU Public Safety, 212/998-2222; you will be connected with a Crisis Response Counselor.

Also the Wellness Exchange Hotline, 212/443-9999 is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week if you need to speak with a counselor.

Other options. CBH conducts workshops that target specific needs of our students. Please call 212/998-4780 to obtain the schedule of these workshops:

Stress Management
Time Management
Anger Management
Body Image

Additionally, a Stress Reduction Workshop is held at CBH every Tuesday, 12pm – 1pm. CBH also offers support groups in areas such as bereavement, eating disorders, and substance use.

Reach out. If another NYU student you know is in crisis and you feel they need help, please call CBH or the Wellness Exchange Hotline; they will gladly advise you.

Finally, remember that the Gallatin Office of Student Affairs is always available to help you. Please drop by anytime between 9 and 5 weekdays, at 719 Broadway, Rooms 532-533.
