[last friday’s meeting: 10 people, daniele contacted programming board looking for a co-sponsorship. we got a co-sponsorship with tisch]

[move forward with the student councils for co-sponsorships]
[liora suggests that gallatin co-sponsor with greek systems if we have trouble finding consporship. daniele asks liora to talk to her after]
[julio’s senate report: preliminary work. all 22 senators got together to discuss the senate, the breakdown of committees, one guest pass for the senate meeting each meeting, need an alternate senator: contact julio. be there to work with julio and to fill in as an alternate if julio can’t make a meeting. julio(at)nyu.edu. liora and gabe raise their hands]
[treasurer’s report: club funding proposals should be out by the end of the week. e-board will meet after this meeting and then pass it along to sam]
[what’s real about reality tv? coffee house is tomorrow, tuesday]
[february 21st is all-u games. december will be t-shirt submission ideas. mascot themes. then work together on a design]
[halloween bash: costume party, oct. 26th, rosenthal in kimmel.]

  • [julio wants to know if we can go green. hayden uses biodegradable materials, maybe talk with aramark to have things brought over]

[alexandra and sam gogolak went to a free dj class at dumpspot, and are willing to come to nyu to give some free lessons. perhaps gallatone could pick it up and plan an event. perhaps senior class could do another event as well. gallatone should contact sam gogolak because he’s been in contact with dumpspot]
[night at the natural history museum? sleepovers for children once a month. brad contacted them to see if they can do it for college students.  usu. $100 per person, it would have to be worked upon]
[jeong ki suggests a paintball trip in new jersey. world war ii theme, trenches, good fun, and love]
[gallatin’s new york cares team has 10 people so far.  they will meet at 8:30 in the morning. to sign up e-mail alexandra st.charles(at)nyu.edu. the school site is out near jfk. gsc will provide lunch for participants]
[how can we become more active in representing our gallatin students?  we need to focus on issues specific to gallatin, specifically academics]

  • you shouldn’t have to submit tutorials before the next semester
  • alternatives to the colloquium: thesis, presentation, open to ideas
  • gallatin students should have priority to gallatin classes in the same way that the other schools get priorities to theirs
  • students should have their own forum to evaluate teachers and courses
  • facilities in the new space and how they are going to be
  • open courses up in other school’s for gallatin students that they are currently locked out of
  • update gpac
    • eric says it was updated last semester and should get you enough
  • need more support and friendliness within the internship program

[gsc would like to be able to express gallatin students issues as a collective, and not an individual issue]
[daniele suggests that we have sam send an e-mail out to all gallatin students advertising speak up as an option to voice issues]
[publicize g-post, gpac’s new listserve for students to post any events]
[melissa says long range planning may not be meeting in the fall]
[varsha needs jga’s contact.  it’s outdated on the website and varsha needs their budget proposal.]
[icarus project needs to submit its budget proposal]
[no meeting next monday. october 15th is the next meeting]
[matt needs a projector to talk about listserves and website]
