I am running for class representative. I have great ideas that will help bring the Gallatin community closer. I wish to be the voice to express the concerns and desires of the student body. I have held previous positions in high school student council. I know what needs to be done and I will do whats best for the class as a whole.

Dorit Finkel
Dorit (like Doritos) Finkel’s Facebook-esque Class Rep
Profile:
Status: Dorit is hopelessly addicted to coffee (and wants to put her caffeine high to good use!).
Sex: Female
Looking For: Friendship (of Gallatin Freshmen, woo!)
Activities: Downing espresso shots, jamming on piano and guitar, sticking it to The Man, Emiliano Zapata (no, seriously)
Interests: Making Freshman year at Gallatin amazing!
Favorite Quotes: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” (Gandhi)
“Fight for your right to party.” (Beastie Boys)
“But….why male models?” (no attribution needed)
About Me: I was Student Council President in high school, so I have experience in representing. I love planning fun events and getting people together in creative ways. I want to gather all of our ideas and make an unforgettable year together! (Corny, I know…but still.)
One of my ideas is to use Facebook to get feedback and create a forum for Gallatin Freshmen, so we can all participate in shaping the year’s activities and be the changes we want to see in our school

Stacey DaSilva
S-Stacey can plan a hip, fun night for all Gallatin Freshmen! (Maybe a little popcorn, a little board games, a little music, a lil’ Twister, a lil’ love…?)
T-Time she will devote to this position will be endless.
A- Any complaints or questions can come to me, and I’ll take care of the rest.
C- Can bend her thumb to touch her wrist!!!
E- Even can beat box while doing the salsa upside down on one arm
Y- You can vote me in to be your Class Rep!

Gabe Schoenberg
The New York Times called him a, “Hard Worker.”

The San Francisco Daily called him, “The biggest thing since Barry Bonds’ biceps.”

Barnum and Bailey said, “They have never seen a one man circus quite like this before.”

Mary said, “He was good in the sack.”

Vote Gabe for Freshman Rep because he’s getting the best reviews in town.

Courtney Cauthen
I’m so excited to get into the first of our four years at Gallatin! We have an amazing potential to be a close-knit community within the larger university. Gallatin Student Council is a great avenue to create this community, and as the freshman class rep I am planning to bring our 2011 Gallatin pride together (cause I mean, we are the coolest school at NYU). Even though we lack a physical space, we do have some money to spend through GSC to plan amazing programs or events which can bring us together in other ways. But as class representative, I wouldn’t plan it all alone. I would like to work more as a leader of a committee comprised of the other candidates for 2011 class rep and of anyone else who wants to help shape our 2011 community. Gallatin rocks. Let’s have an awesome first year together.

Ali Guokas - Sophomore

Hello! My name is Ali Guokas and I would like to be your Sophomore Class Representative for GSC. I would love to be a source for you to voice your thoughts for our class as well as Gallatin as a whole. I believe we should all have the opportunity to express our opinions at GSC meetings, and I would thoroughly enjoy being able to represent our class and especially those who are unable to attend. Additionally, I have a great amount of experience with planning fun events through many different organizations, such as Classics Club, Gallatin Theatre Troupe, Key Club, and Girl Scouts. Some of the events I have planned in the past are: theater outings, dinner and a movie programs, a museum trip, an ice-skating event, knitting circles, and art workshops, to name a few. I would love to create new and exciting programs for our class!
Thank you! Please vote for Ali for Sophomore Class Representative!

i believe that we should be having a good time our senior year. let’s have some yellow tail senior chill out parties.

let’s screen some sweet shirts. this time you don’t have to come do it yourself.

let’s have an alternative graduation party. not just the big graduation event. a separate party. something fubu.

really i’d just like us all to drink some wine and have a good time.

Audrey Cherbonnier
Audrey Cherbonnier running for Transfer Class Representative with love!

A little about myself, I transferred to NYU Spring of 2007. That semester I spent getting adjusted to New York and the lifestyle changes and there was a huge part of me that wanted to get involved with the Gallatin community but at the time I really did not feel there was a community spirit from Gallatin. I was only taking one Gallatin class and all my friends were from Stern and CAS. This semester I decided to be more pro-active and started off by being apart of the Gallatin Business Club, only then did I start feeling the presence of the Gallatin community. So why am I running? I feel like many people do not know how to get involved, and I would love to be that person to try to bring everyone together.

The event that I want to organize is a Forever Young Party. It will entail having transfers get together, preferably dressed in costume. The costumes would have to be either their favorite superheroes or what they wanted to be when they grew up. We would set up televisions that played shows from the eighties (including cartoon) and games from our childhood; Serve foods like mac and cheese, pizza, hot dogs, chips, typical kid foods.

I would also love to bring this theme down to a community service level, whereby if there were seniors interested we could use any balance we had left from the budget to buy presents for children in orphanages for Christmas. Spread the joy of being Young!

Hello, my name is Kathryn Landuyt and as a Graduate student at Gallatin taking classes throughout the entire NYU community, I have been searching for ways to maximize my experience at NYU academically, professionally, and personally. I am sure that many of you are doing the same, but also find yourself thinking that something more could be done. This is why I am running for student representative for Gallatin Graduate students. NYU has much to offer that is still unknown to many students and yet other things that could be implemented. My goal is to merge the Gallatin School students with the entire NYU community and at the same time fulfill the individual requirements unique to the Gallatin School student body. Acting as a representative will not be an entirely new experience for me since I served as a student council representative as well as an honor code committee member during undergrad and as a Graduate Student at Large at the University of Chicago, so I have first hand experience to back my service for the Gallatin School student body. Most importantly, however, I am committed to enriching the graduate school experience for each and every one of us.
