The conversation also revisited Gallatin Arts Festival, course evaluations, and GSC will be meeting up Gpac soon to talk about course evaluations. Concerns were brought up about class advisors and Gallatin’s lack of a dean. Class advisors will be coming to future GSC meetings, and McLaughlin told Bailey that we’re shooting to have a new dean by fall of next year.
4:37PM - Student Life Update: Samantha Shapses informed us that there is a new grant this and this year only that clubs can apply for when they’ve run through allotted money, so use it! Come to the student life office with questions. She also spoke about the new Film Series started by clubs, but the name Film Series is already a title used by faculty, so she was thinking perhaps faculty and clubs could alternate every other Friday. She also wants student input about a possible replacement for GallaFeast.
4:50PM - Sam G mentioned about the Town Hall coming up. GSC needs your input! Please tell us what you would like to see at the next Town Hall by either visiting us during our weekly office hours, or visiting gallatinstudent.com and using the speak up feature.

(5:03PM) John Sexton Townhall: NYU is working to improve Graduate Student Services at Wasserman, Student Health Services, sustainability, and financial aid. (side notes: There will be a commencement hearing in November, and Coca-Cola agreed to third party review in Columbia, so ban?) but the biggest news is…. THE GREEN ACTION PLAN!: (1) 70% of our energy will be 100% wind credit and the other 30% will come from the new Co-Generator which will be replacing the one we have now. (2) There is a new environmental studies major. (3) Expanding NYU Recycling. (4) Creating a task force on sustainability. (5) New environmental research grants. (6) More/ new bike racks (some even indoors!).

5:25PM - Funding Proposals by Alexandra St.Charles (GSC Treasurer) were passed out and everyone’s numbers were reviewed. The Beehive Collective co-sponsorship proposal was also passed out and reviewed. It was voted down, but was voted for review if a member of the Beehive Collective was willing to come and talk to us next meeting.
5:40PM - Last Minute Announcements: (1) Split receipts/invoices over $150, so you can get cash back. (2) Chickpea is upset about unpaid NYU invoices, so perhaps we should look into this.
